Brantford Police arrested an armed trespasser early Sunday morning thanks to one very good boy. A security guard near the Mohawk Street Landfill, at Morrison Road, discovered a trespasser on the property at 12:39 a.m. Officers were told the man had a knife and was last seen running into a densely wooded area. Police called in members of their Emergency Response Team, as well as Police Service Dog Mack and his handler, to search the brush. “Despite the rainy conditions, PSD Mack quickly located and apprehended the suspect successfully and [he] was placed into custody without further incident,” a media release said. The 41-year-old from Brantford was then taken to a local hospital with what police described as minor injuries. The man was also charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of non-compliance of a probation order.
