Plea from family of OPP officer killed at side of highway to "move over"

The family of an O-P-P officer who died after being injured while conducting roadside check is speaking out in support of the province's move over law.

Sergeant Margaret Eve of the Chatham-Kent Detachment died after a transport slammed into three police cruisers in June 2000.

Her husband and daughter spoke in support of the law at a news conference today.

The law requires motorists to slow down and pull over into an outer lane if possible when emergency vehicles with lights flashing are stopped on side of the road.
