Kitchener residents charged following $172K drug bust in northern Ontario

Two people from Kitchener are facing drug trafficking charges as a result of a significant investigation by the Sault Ste. Marie Police.

Sault Ste. Marie Police said they worked with the Waterloo Regional Police Service, leading to a search in Algoma.

Officers found and seized 913 grams of suspected fentanyl, 353 grams of suspected cocaine and $3,200 in cash. Police said the total street value of the drugs was estimated at $172,250.

Three people were arrested: a 23-year-old from Ottawa, a 20-year-old from Kitchener and a 21-year-old from Kitchener.

Both of the Kitchener residents were charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
