Calgary police say a driver critically injured in a crash in Southview on Wednesday was a 17-year-old girl. The collision happened in the 2500 block of 26 Street S.E. just after 3:30 a.m. Police say the teenage driver was travelling north when her Volkswagen hit a parked GMC Savana, the force of which sent the Savana into a second parked vehicle; a Mazda 3. Both of the parked vehicles were unoccupied. Police say the driver remains in hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries. Investigators are looking at speed as a factor in the collision. Anyone with additional information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
