Brantford Police investigate potential school threat

Brantford Police have determined that a threat to an unnamed school in the city posed no risk to students or staff.

In a media release, they said they became aware, around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, of statements “made by an individual that referenced a potential threat to a Colborne Street school.”

Police said they interviewed several people and ultimately determined there was no cause for concern.

“The safety of students and our community remain a top priority,” the release continued. “All threats are taken seriously and investigated in full to ensure the security of those affected.”

As a precautionary measure, police said officers would be present at the school on Thursday.
