A southern Alberta couple is celebrating a $100,000 win on a Daily Grand and Extra lottery ticket. Linda and Herman Bittner bought their winning ticket at the Save‑On‑Foods in Langdon, east of Calgary. They won by matching the Extra winning numbers for the March 9 draw. Herman says he checked the ticket at the store, and didn’t believe at first that they had won. Still in disbelief, he called Linda – but she didn’t believe it either. “He’s always joking, so I didn’t believe him at first,” Linda said in a Friday news release. The couple says their winnings will go toward home renovations.
