'Game of Thrones' star Momoa to lead cast in Discovery Canada's 'Frontier'

TORONTO - "Game of Thrones" star Jason Momoa will lead the cast in Discovery Canada's upcoming show "Frontier," the network's first original scripted series.

The new drama centres on the sometimes bloody struggle for wealth and power in the North American fur trade of the late 18th century.

The show is being shot in 4K resolution and production is underway in St. John's, Morrisburg, Ont., Louisbourg, N.S., and Cornwall, U.K.

Rob Blackie and Peter Blackie created the six-episode, one-hour drama.

Canadian director Brad Peyton will helm the first two episodes.

The cast also includes Alun Armstrong, Landon Liboiron, Zoe Boyle, and Allan Hawco.
