Woman thrown off motorcycle in hit-and-run crash, police search for driver

Police are looking for the driver of a pickup that hit a motorcycle and left the scene.

At 6:44 a.m. on Friday emergency crews got a call about a woman lying on the ground at the intersection of Highway 16A and Century Road in Spruce Grove.

The woman’s motorcycle was found at the scene.

Mounties determined that the woman was northbound on Century Road and Range Road 272 in Spruce Grove.

She stopped at the intersection at Highway 16A and made a right turn onto the highway when it was safe to do so, according to RCMP.

Shortly after pulling into the highway she was rear-ended by a pickup and flew off the bike.

The pickup is described as a white company truck.

The woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries at the scene.
