Man faces weapons charges after Churchill LRT station incident

Police have charged a 30-year-old man after seizing a sawed-off shotgun at an Edmonton LRT station.

A man faces several weapons charges after he was found with a firearm at Edmonton’s Churchill LRT station.

The weapon was found in the 30-year-old’s backpack, which police searched after being called to stop him from interfering with first responders who were helping another person the evening of April 26.

He was charged with five weapons-related charges, including for breaking a lifelong firearms ban for previously being charged with manslaughter.
