A vehicle caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames. According to Severn Fire, four firetrucks and nine firefighters were called to Highway 11 southbound near Agnew Road in Severn Township on Wednesday afternoon at around 2 to find a small Volkswagen sedan on fire. While the driver of the vehicle was able to pull over to the side of the road safely, fire crews say they still had to close the road to put out the blaze. However, they were on scene for just a few minutes and opened the roadway shortly after. Crews say the fire started in the engine compartment but the cause is not known. There were no injuries.
