‘Ho! Ho! Ho!’: Santa spreads holiday cheer over St. Albert Trail for 15th year

As part of an annual tradition, St. Nick waved to drivers from the pedway over St. Albert Trail, spreading Christmas cheer and taking photos with passersby.

If you drove under the pedestrian bridge on St. Albert Trail, you may have received a festive greeting from a welcomed guest.

Santa Claus returned to Edmonton for Christmas Eve day to wave to drivers and to greet passersby in an annual holiday tradition.

“Brings back good memories. This town has been very good to me,” said Santa.

This is the 15th year of Jolly Old St. Nick making a special appearance to spread holiday cheer.

Santa says reactions have been good and he believes it gets people excited for what’s to come.

“I just love being out with the good folks and to bring Christmas cheer for Christmas Eve because tonight’s the big night, it makes me feel good,”

“It gets Rudolph excited too. He’s ready to rock and roll tonight, so it’s gonna be a great night.”
