Here’s what’s happening in Edmonton this weekend: Edmonton International Film Festival There’s still time to catch a movie at the Edmonton International Film Festival. Canadian Finals Rodeo The Canadian Finals Rodeo is heating up on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the CFR Tailgate Party starts at 4 p.m. and rodeo performances start at 6:30 p.m. at Rogers Place. On Saturday, the action at Rogers Place begins at 11 a.m., before the championship at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available online. ESO: The Legends of Country Participating in the cowboy theme, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra is putting on a concert with songs from country music stars, including Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks and Shania Twain. There will be concerts on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Buy tickets online. Fleurs de Villes Fleurs de Villes, a flower show at Muttart Conservatory, wraps up this weekend. The event features 16 local florists and curatorial partners in total, with designs inspired by local landmarks such as the Citadel Theatre and the Telus World of Science Edmonton. The Harvest Festival at the Currents of Windermere Town Square will feature a petting zoo with farm animals, a bouncy castle, face painting, a photobooth and outdoor games. The festival will also support Edmonton’s Food Bank with an on-site donation collection. Guests are encouraged to bring cash or non-perishable food. The event takes place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and it’s free. Toronto Blue Jays watch parties The Edmonton Riverhawks are hosting Toronto Blue Jays watch parties in the Re/Max Field lounge this weekend. The Jays are facing the New York Yankees in the American League Division Series. Games 1 and 2, in Toronto, are at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
