A young man is in critical condition in the hospital after a fight escalated early Friday morning in Montreal’s Plateau neighbourhood. Montreal police (SPVM) report that a 911 call was made about an unconscious man at the intersection of Guilbault West and Clark streets. Officers responded and found the 22-year-old man with injuries to his upper body, and he was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Police believe that an altercation between two people escalated, resulting in the victim being struck at least once. There were no suspects on scene when police arrived, and investigators will go through neighbourhood surveillance camera footage. The investigation is ongoing.
