Edmonton transit winter service begins Nov. 30

Various bus routes will see service adjustment starting Nov. 30 as the Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) transitions to its winter scheduling.

Routes 712 and 713 will be reassigned bays at Century Park Transit Station from Bay J to Bay H and Bay I to Bay P, respectively. Signage will be placed at the affected stops to direct riders to the correct bay.

New On Demand Transit stops will be added in Aster and Tamarack neighbourhoods with service to Meadows Transit Centre and the Meadows Recreation Centre.

Stop #33017 on 12 Street and southbound Aster Boulevard will be closed with the opening of the new stops.

Routes 910X, 918A and 918B in Gariepy have resumed service. On Demand Transit will no longer be available in this area.

Temporary On Demand Transit is no longer available in West Jasper Place as Valley Line West construction has ended for the season. Route 7 has returned to its regular service.

As construction season comes to an end, several other routes will also return to their original routing. These include Routes 107 and 119 along 167 Avenue and 66 Street, as well as Routes 106 and 626 on 132 Avenue between 82 Street and 66 Street.

Construction work is still being done on the Low Level Bridge and will continue to impact service until Dec. 15.

Routes 8, 500X, 511 and 523 are detoured for the duration of the work.

Routes 2 and 2-Owl will remain detoured due to the Wellington Bridge replacement project until fall of next year.

Transit will be reduced on holidays and in alignment with public, Catholic and post-secondary school calendars:

• Dec. 22, 23, 24: All buses will run on reduced weekday service.
• Dec. 25: Buses and LRT will operate using reduced Sunday schedules.
• Dec. 26: Buses and LRT will operate using Saturday schedules. There will also be additional service on Route 4.
• Dec. 29, 30: All buses will run on reduced weekday service.
• Dec. 31: From the start of service until 6 p.m., all buses will run on reduced weekday service. From 6 p.m. until the end of service, all transit riders can board buses, LRT and DATS fare-free. Some routes will also have extended service until 3 a.m.
• Jan. 1: Buses and LRT will operate using Sunday schedules.
• Jan. 2: All buses will run on reduced weekday service. Regular weekday service resumes on LRT.
• Jan. 5: Regular weekday service resumes on buses.

Riders are encouraged to plan their trips in advance using the ETS trip planner or Google Maps.
