$5M-winning lottery ticket bought in Alberta

The winning ticket for a major lottery was bought in Alberta outside the province’s two major cities.

The Western Canada Lottery Corporation said Monday morning in a media release that the ticket worth $5 million in Saturday’s Lotto 6/49 draw was purchased somewhere in the province outside Calgary and Edmonton.

The winning numbers are 1, 5, 9, 17, 36 and 46.

Two other ticket buyers in Alberta outside Calgary and Edmonton won six-figure draws on Saturday as well: $250,000 and $100,000 jackpots in the Extra draw.

The winning number for the Extra is 6472115.

The winner(s) have one year to claim their prizes.
