1 dead, 1 hospitalized in speed-related crash in north Edmonton: police

One person is dead and another was taken to hospital after a crash on Friday morning.

Police say a Cadillac Escalade was driving northbound on 97 Street when it hit a Honda Civic turning from 97 Street southbound onto 165 Avenue eastbound.

The 71-year-old man driving the Honda was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

The 16-year-old boy driving the Cadillac was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to police.
