Woman killed in crash south of Brooks: Alberta RCMP

RCMP in southern Alberta say a Pincher Creek woman is dead after a car crash.

Mounties say emergency responders were called to the scene of a serious vehicle collision on Highway 36 and Highway 539, south of Brooks, on Wednesday afternoon.

Responders on scene found a damaged SUV in the west ditch that had been travelling north before rolling over.

They say EMS provided medical aid to the 35-year-old woman and child who was inside the vehicle, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The child was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
