Waterloo Regional Police are investigating after an overnight assault in Cambridge left one person injured. Police say just before midnight on Sunday, an unknown male entered the garage of a home in the area of Flockhart Road and Bailey Drive and assaulted the occupant with an edged weapon. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene on foot. Investigators describe the suspect as a white male, approximately 5’8″ with a stocky build, wearing a black balaclava and black clothing. Police say they believe the incident was targeted. The investigation is ongoing by the Waterloo Regional Police Service General Investigations Unit.
