Tyrannosaurus rex experience coming to Calgary’s Telus Spark

The Telus Spark Science Centre is stepping back into the Cretaceous period for its newest exhibit, which takes a deep dive into one of the world’s most famous dinosaurs.

Sue is one of the most complete and best-preserved Tyrannosaurus rex skeletons ever discovered.

While she is permanently on display at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, Ill., a travelling exhibit with an exact cast of Sue’s massive skeleton is coming to Calgary.

Officials say Sue: The T. Rex Experience brings the dino to life through sight, sound, smell and touch.

“It’s a window into one of the most fascinating periods in Earth’s history,” said Guy Labine, Telus Spark president and CEO, in a news release.

“Whether you’re visiting the city or a local, this exhibition is a must-see. It transforms how we experience dinosaurs, combining cutting-edge science with immersive storytelling to spark curiosity for visitors of all ages.”

Visitors can stand beside the cast of Sue’s skeleton – which stands 40 feet long and 13 feet tall at the hip.

The exhibition also features a full-scale, fleshed-out model of a T. rex mid-hunt, offering a glimpse into predator-prey dynamics from 68 million years ago.

Sue: The T. Rex Experience runs from June 27 to Nov. 29.
