Plane makes emergency landing at Calgary airport

CTV Calgary: Plane makes emergency landing An Air Canada flight from Lethbridge made an emergency landing at the Calgary airport after there was an issue with the landing gear.

Emergency crews were called to the Calgary international Airport on Tuesday morning after a plane made an emergency landing.

Fire officials say the call came in at about 7:00 a.m. and that crews responded to a new runway for reports that an Air Canada plane made an emergency landing after an issue with the landing gear.

The Air Canada Express flight originated in Lethbridge and landed in Calgary with 15 passengers onboard.

Air Canada officials say the aircraft landed safely on its main landing gear and that the nose wheel collapsed when it came to a stop.

EMS officials say there were no injuries reported.

Passengers were bussed to the terminal and all have been re-booked on connecting flights.

Airport officials say operations at the facility were not impacted and that the aircaft has now been taken out of service.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has sent a team of investigators to Calgary to look into the incident.
