Phil Rosenthal would happily do ‘Somebody Feed Phil’ for the rest of his life

You don’t have to tell Phil Rosenthal he’s a lucky guy.

“Yes, I get annoyed. I watch the news. I get despondent sometimes, but underneath it all, I’m the luckiest guy in the world,” Rosenthal told CTV News.

Rosenthal’s Netflix show, Somebody Feed Phil, is in its eighth season, and he says he’d be happy to keep producing it.

“I want to do it the rest of my life because it’s a pretty good job, in case you didn’t notice,” Rosenthal said.

Rosenthal’s latest enterprise is a cookbook, Phil’s Favorites: Recipes from Friends and Family to Make at Home, and a new restaurant in Los Angeles, Max and Helen’s.

It’s named after his late parents, both Holocaust survivors from Germany who settled in New York.

“That’s actually the No. 1 thing that I feel every day—grateful and lucky, considering where they came from and considering how we started as a family,” Rosenthal said.
