One person was injured in a single-vehicle crash overnight. The crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. on Montreal Road near St. Laurent Boulevard. Ottawa paramedic spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps told CTV News Ottawa the driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital in stable condition. The single-vehicle crash resulted in significant damage to the car. Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) says firefighters were called to extricate the passenger, who remained trapped in the vehicle. “Crews stabilized the vehicle using cribbing and disconnected the battery before beginning the extrication process. A firefighter entered the vehicle to provide patient care and maintain C-spine stabilization while the extrication was underway,” said OFS public information officer Nick DeFazio in a post on X. “Firefighters used specialized tools to remove both passenger-side doors and the B-post of the vehicle. The passenger was safely extricated on a backboard at 1:42 a.m.” Ottawa police say there were no charges as a result of the crash.
