A Fort Macleod man is facing charges in connection with two separate incidents of sexual assault. On April 10, Lethbridge police responded to a report that a 38-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted in the parking lot of a northside grocery store. Police say a man approached the woman, told her she had a spider on her back and then touched her inappropriately before fleeing in a black 2025 Volkswagen Jetta. On May 5, officers responded to a similar incident in the parking lot of a westside grocery store, where a 47-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by an unknown man. Following an investigation, police arrested 35-year-old Mackenzie Jackson Murray of Fort Macleod. He has been charged with two counts of sexual assault. Police say there may be additional victims and are asking anyone who may have had a similar encounter to contact them at 403-328-4444.
