Manjot Singh joined CTV News Calgary in May 2026, bringing with him a cross-country perspective and a passion for storytelling that resonates with younger audiences. Originally from India, Manjot moved to Canada to pursue journalism at Fanshawe College in London, Ont. While in school, he reported for 106.9 The X, where he covered stories focused on youth and emerging communities, earning recognition for both news writing and inclusive reporting. He went on to intern at The Globe and Mail in Toronto as an associate producer before heading west to Vancouver, where he worked as a video journalist with OMNI Television. There, he covered a wide range of stories, including provincial and federal elections. Before joining CTV News Calgary, Manjot was a digital broadcast journalist with Global News in Regina. His coverage spanned everything from politics and major live events to Saskatchewan’s Grey Cup celebrations and community stories across the province. A proud member of Gen Z, Manjot is particularly interested in stories that reflect the voices and experiences of younger generations. Outside the newsroom, he enjoys watching movies and exploring new cuisines. Manjot speaks English, Punjabi and Hindi.
