Lethbridge police say a senior was badly injured after being hit by a vehicle on Thursday. The incident happened in the 1500 block of Lakemount Boulevard South just before 6 p.m. Police say the victim, a 68-year-old woman, was crossing the road when she was hit by a southbound Toyota Corolla. The driver, a 17-year-old boy, remained at the scene. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries. She was transported to Chinook Regional Hospital before being taken to the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary where she remains in critical condition. Initially, police were unsure of the woman’s identity as she didn’t have any identification on her -- and had asked the public to reach out if they knew who she was. However, an update from police indicated they had since determined who she is. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 403-328-4444.
