Flames look to even things with the Ducks

The Calgary Flames may get more help on the ice for Game 4 against the Ducks, with Lance Bouma and Michael Ferland possibly making a return on Friday night.

The Calgary Flames are ready for Game 4 at the Saddledome on Friday night and hope to even up the series before heading back to Anaheim.

The team says they’re looking to build off the energy they gathered during Game 3 on Tuesday night, where they defeated the visiting Ducks 4-3 in overtime.

They’ll likely be getting some extra help too, in the form of Lance Bouma, who hasn’t played since blocking a shot in the third last game of the regular season, and Michael Ferland, who only played one period in Game 1 against the Ducks.

Bouma was skating with linemates Matt Stajan and David Jones during practice on Thursday, and with him and Ferland back in the lineup, it seems that Brandon Bollig will be left out.

However, Bouma is still listed as day-to-day, but the team knows how much he could help if he gets back in.

He says that he feels good. “Still day to day obviously, but I feel good. Day to day.”

Jones says his linemate could bring a presence they need on the ice. “I think he’s one of those guys who brings such a physical presence like Ferly did. You know to get him back would be awesome.”

Coach Bob Hartley says when it comes to who will be in the line up tonight, nothing is decided until game time. "This afternoon we will sit with our medical staff and go through all our injuries, like we always do." said Hartley.

The Ducks took a trip to Banff to regroup and the Flames kept things light-hearted on Thursday, with Craig Conroy presenting head coach Bob Hartley with a Dairy Queen cake to congratulate his nomination for the Jack Adams Award.

The puck drop for Game 4 is at 7:30 p.m.

Anaheim has a 2-1 lead in the series.

Parking will be banned along 17 Avenue between 2 Street to 14 Street S.W.
