Fire crews responding to blaze in Rocky View County

A brush fire broke out Thursday south of Ghost Lake. Smoke could be seen from Calgary, and crews say the blaze covers 10 acres.

Fire crews are responding to a 10-acre brush fire in Rocky View County.

The blaze broke out Thursday afternoon, with crews from Rocky View County Fire Services responding.

The fire is just south of Ghost Lake and north of Highway 1 off Range Road 54 and is expected to grow.

The blaze broke out the same day a fire advisory was issued for East/West Rocky View County due to moderate fire risks.

Crews from the Calgary Fire Department have sent a tender truck to help put the blaze out, CFD’s public information officer Alex Kwan said.
