Balcony fire spreads to 2 units in southwest Calgary

An investigation is underway into a fire in southwest Calgary Sunday morning.

Calgary fire crews were called to 2017 90 Ave. S.W. at 10:38 a.m., where they discovered a fire that started on a balcony and spread to two units.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.

The residents of both units have been displaced and a Calgary fire battalion chief said there might be people in two other units displaced, although their units only suffered smoke damage.

Firefighters remain on scene to watch for hotspots.
