4th person charged in connection with fatal 2025 shooting in Ogden

A fourth person has been charged with the murder of a man in the southeast Calgary community of Ogden late last year.

Yahya Abdullahi, 22, was located and arrested Tuesday in Edmonton.

Abdullahi has since been charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the death of Feysal Osman Abdul-Aziz, 32.

Abdullahi is next scheduled to appear in a Calgary courtroom on June 16.

Shooting death

Around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 10, 2025, gunshots were reported in the 7000 block of 20 Street S.E.

Police found a man lying dead outside his vehicle.

He was later identified as Abdul-Aziz, the same man charged with second-degree murder in the death of another man in 2020.

He was ultimately acquitted of that crime.

Three people were arrested a short time after Abdul-Aziz’s shooting with assistance from the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service.

Two were released while the third, a 17-year-old, was kept in custody on unrelated warrants.

Re-arrested

On March 12, Clearwater RCMP responded to a vehicle stuck in a ditch on Highway 5 near Blue River, B.C.

Mounties determined two of the vehicle’s occupants were connected to the Ogden shooting.

A third person was arrested but later released.

Calgary police said the two people arrested near Blue River were the same suspects arrested after Abdul-Aziz’s death.

Aken Bolakok Aken, 23, and Ayomide Opemips Adeyinka, 21, were charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

The 17-year-old youth, still in police custody, was likewise charged.

The teen cannot be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police said at the time a fourth suspect was still wanted in connection with the fatal shooting.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Abdullahi.
