11 fugitives taken into custody in Airdrie after joint investigation

Police in Airdrie have taken almost a dozen people into custody following an operation aimed at tracking down fugitives.

The investigation was a joint effort between Airdrie RCMP and Alberta Sheriffs.

Together, officers hit the streets on April 14 and 15, arresting 11 people – including a suspect from B.C. wanted on 17 charges.

Police issued 21 warrants during the operation, which Staff Sgt. Steve Browne of the Airdrie RCMP described as “highly successful.”

“By working together and sharing key information, we can better identify and target the offenders who pose the greatest risk to our communities,” added Insp. Darren Thompson with Alberta Sheriffs.
