Second person charged following alleged string of thefts in Gravenhurst

Following multiple alleged thefts at various retail stores in Gravenhurst, OPP has arrested and charged a second person.

This person, a Gravenhurst man, 45, is the partner of the 41-year-old Gravenhurst woman who was charged on Feb. 11, according to police.

Five retailers who have been affected in the theft spree have told police they estimate they have lost thousands of dollars in product from December to February.

The accused is facing charges of robbery, four counts of theft under $5,000 and six counts of failure to comply with probation.

The man was held for a bail hearing and will be attending court at a later date.
