It’s only spring but it’ll feel lie summer this Victoria Day long weekend, with the heat and humidity set to return. According to the CTV News London Meteorologist Julie Atchison, the daytime high in London will reach 20 C on Friday, with mainly overcast skies. Temperatures will drop overnight to 9 C, but skies are expected to clear. “The May long weekend is the unofficial kickoff to the summer season and will have some summer like temperatures to follow,” she said. Looking ahead to the weekend, Atchison says scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop in the morning and will carry into the early afternoon before clearing out by Saturday evening. The high will reach 23 C but will feel like 29 with the humidity. “Just in time for those of barbecues to fire up on Sunday,” she said. Skies will clear overnight Saturday, with a low of 11 C. Cloudy skies return on Sunday, but temperatures will be summerlike, with the daytime high set to reach 21 C.
