Partial shutdown of Huronia Road south of Big Bay Point

The city of Barrie says it plans to put down more than 1400 metres of piping along Huronia Road, but it cannot do so without shutting part of the street down.

Starting Monday, traffic at Huronia will be restricted to a single southbound lane between Little Avenue and Big Bay Point.

The city says northbound traffic will be detoured around to Yonge Street and Bayview Avenue.

The city says this project is estimated to take until the fall of 2027 to complete.
