One hospitalized after SUV-motorcycle crash

One person was hospitalized after a crash between an SUV and motorcycle on Mapleview Drive West Sunday morning.

It happened in front of the Tim Hortons just west of Bryne Drive.

When CTV News arrived on scene, a damaged white SUV and a motorcycle lying on its side were observed. Multiple police and paramedic vehicles were also seen in the area.

A spokesperson from Barrie police told CTV News that it was a turning motion collision, with the motorcycle travelling east and the SUV turning and colliding with it.

Barrie police later confirmed to CTV News that the person who was hospitalized sustained serious injuries.

Mapleview Drive West was closed for several hours between Bryne Drive and the Canadian Tire as crews continued working on the scene. The area has since reopened.

There are no charges at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
