You may want to swing by the gas station sooner rather than later. Gas prices are continuing to climb this week in Simcoe County. According to Canadians for Affordable Energy, the price of gas will rise four cents per litre overnight. Prices are expected to be around 173.9 cents by Wednesday. The week started off on the lower side with the average price of gas in Barrie at around 157 cents. That rose to 169.9 cents by Tuesday and they’ll continue in that direction. Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, recommends filling up after 6 p.m. to get in on the lowest prices.
