Work on downtown Windsor’s angled parking spots has begun, in an effort to create more on-street parking. A proposal was endorsed by Windsor council earlier this year to implement angled parking on certain roads that would allow it. “The new street parking initiative will complement efforts that are already succeeding in attracting new investments, businesses, residents, and visitors to the downtown core,” said Mayor Drew Dilkens. “Thanks to Coun. Renaldo Agostino for bringing this idea forward, and to the teams who explored the feasibility and are now ready to deliver these parking enhancements across downtown.” This will increase parking to 864 spaces, adding 249 spots. Windsor is now offering tips for angled parking: Drivers near the angled parking areas are asked to slow down and be aware of anyone backing out of the parking spots.
