Lambton OPP is investigating a million-dollar copper wire theft in St. Clair Township. On Monday just before 7 a.m., police were called to the reported theft at a business on Oil Springs Line between St. Clair Parkway and Greenfield Road. Officers said the theft took place between Saturday after 2 p.m. and the morning on Monday. The suspect(s) allegedly gained access to the property by cutting a locked gate on the outside of the property before going in and taking copper wire spools. The estimated value is $1 million. Lambton OPP are also looking for the public’s help finding a vehicle that is believed to have been involved. It is a 2007 white International model 40S heavy truck, previously reported stolen in Sarnia. All scrap metal dealers and recycling facilities are urged to call police if they see large amounts of copper wire.
