New small-dog park, splash pad and upgrades coming to popular outdoor space

Small dogs in Midland will soon have a space of their own at Little Lake Park.

The Town of Midland says a new small-dog park addition will be built beside the existing off-leash area this spring, along with shared shaded areas and seating for park-goers.

Midland Mayor Bill Gordon says the project is part of a broader investment in Little Lake Park aimed at improving accessibility and amenities for locals.

Little Lake Park continues to be a gathering place for residents and their pets. As part of ongoing improvements, the town has also added the access road to the Little Lake Dog Park to its snow clearing routes this winter.

While officials say the road will be treated as a lower priority compared to residential streets, crews will work to keep it open and accessible for users.

Sponsorship and advertising opportunities connected to the dog park upgrades will be announced in the spring, according to Gordon.

The town says additional upgrades are also on the way, with the installation of the Little Lake splash pad scheduled to begin in the warmer months.
