Lake of Bays community Centre reopens, arena floor still closed

After a full building and parking lot shut down a few days ago, the township of Lake of Bays says the community centre in Baysville has reopened, but the arena floor remains closed.

On May 6, the community centre, arena and library were shut down as a result of a ground issue that impacted a maintenance room in the building and part of the parking lot.

As of Wednesday, the second floor of the community centre is now open to the public, as is the Baysville Public Library, which opened up May 14.

The arena floor remains closed to the public as engineers complete further assessment of the east wall, located adjacent to the maintenance room that was originally affected.

A portion of the parking lot also remains fenced off.

The township has not yet shared a timeline for a full reopen.
