Central Ontario has become ground zero for deer versus car collisions

In the past week, 16 drivers have stared down the sudden appearance of a deer in their windshield.

No injuries were reported at any of the crash scenes.

However, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Grey County wants to warn other drivers of the need for care when driving early morning and between sunset and midnight.

It's not just in western central Ontario.

In the last 24 hours, police in Tay Township assisted a 40-year-old resident shortly before 8 p.m. on Talbot Street. The driver had rolled their car into a ditch to avoid hitting a deer on the road.
