Man with lengthy criminal record released from prison, expected to live in Winnipeg

The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) is informing the public of a high-risk, convicted offender who has been released from prison and is expected to live in Winnipeg.

On Wednesday, police announced that 22-year-old Lorne Bradburn was released from Stony Mountain Institution after being in custody for violent offences for 1,472 days.

According to the WPS, Bradburn has a history of violent offending and a lengthy criminal record that includes convictions of assault, assaulting a peace officer with a weapon and uttering threats. He is considered high risk to re-offend in a sexual and/or violent manner.

Upon his release, Bradburn will be subject to a lifetime weapons prohibition and a release order with conditions that include abstaining from alcohol or drugs, abiding by a curfew and not having contact with any person under the age of 16.

Police note they are providing this information so community members can take appropriate measures to protect themselves. Any form of vigilante activity or unreasonable conduct against Bradburn won’t be tolerated.
