‘Bring an appetite for local’: Collingwood Downtown Farmers’ Market kicks off 23rd season this Saturday

The Collingwood Downtown Farmers’ Market is set to make another spectacular return this weekend, marking its 23rd season.

Starting Saturday, the community can explore freshly picked in-season produce, naturally raised meats, preserves, baked goods and handcrafted items at the market, located at the corner of Second and Pine streets.

“Vendors have been busy planting, growing, baking and crafting to offer only the best for our 23rd season,” the team said in a Monday release.

The popular event is a member of Farmers’ Markets Ontario and follows the 100-mile market guidelines, featuring products grown or made within 100 miles of Collingwood.

It runs every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. from now until Thanksgiving.

Owned and operated by the Collingwood Downtown BIA, the market allows businesses within the area to participate and promote their trade. Organizers say it provides a valuable opportunity for retailers and food service operators to showcase what the historic downtown has to offer.

Free parking is available all weekend in the lots located on Ste. Marie Street.
