Police are investigating what they are calling an act of animal cruelty after a dog was left tied to a pole in a Georgina dog park. York Regional Police (YRP) released video of a black pickup truck arriving at the Lake Drive South and Robert Street dog park on Sunday morning. “A suspect is seen walking the dog to an area where it is tied to a pole,” YRP stated. Police say the suspect returned to the truck and drove away heading south on Lake Drive South. The dog, believed to be a Cane Corso, was found with no visible injuries and didn’t appear to be in distress, police say. It was taken to the Georgina Animal Shelter. The suspect vehicle is described as a black pick-up truck with a quad cab, black roof rack that extends to the rear of the truck and dark rims. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7341, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to remain anonymous.
