Alliston hospital worker accused in child porn probe granted bail

An Alliston hospital employee accused in a child porn investigation has been released on bail.

Jared Nolan, 34, appeared in a Barrie court on Monday in handcuffs, as a judge set his bail at $150,000. Nolan will also have to adhere to strict conditions under his house arrest, including no access to internet. He is also prohibited from leaving his home unless he is accompanied by his wife or mother.

There is a publication ban in place that prevents media outlets from reporting on the details presented in the bail hearing.

Nolan, who works in the communications department at the Stevenson Memorial Hospital, was arrested on Wednesday by the OPP.

Police allege Nolan used his position to gain the contact information of his victim.

Nolan has been charged with transmitting sexually explicit material to a person under 18, distribution of child porn, possession of child porn and three counts of internet luring.

Nolan is scheduled to be back in court on Dec. 15.
