Youth dies after early-morning crash involving young driver in Musquodoboit Harbour, N.S.

A young person died in a car crash on the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia.

One youth has died and two others are injured following a crash in Musquodoboit Harbour, N.S., early Friday morning.

RCMP, fire and ambulance crews responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash in the 1100 block of Ostrea Lake Road around 3:40 a.m.

Police say a southbound Honda Civic crossed the road and rolled into a ditch.

“The youth driver and a youth passenger were transported to hospital by EHS for non-life-threatening injuries,” reads an RCMP news release.

“A second youth passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

The exact ages of the youths involved have not been released.

A section of Ostrea Lake Road was closed for several hours while an RCMP collision reconstructionist responded to the scene. It has since reopened.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
