Suspect in custody following report of armed man in Dartmouth, N.S., area

A suspect is in custody following a report of an armed man in the Dartmouth, N.S., area Tuesday morning.

Police said in a social media post around 8:30 a.m. that there is no risk to public safety.

Cole Harbour District High School was put on hold and secure briefly as a precaution. It has since been lifted.

The RCMP says residents can expect to see a heavy police presence on Chameau Crescent in Cole Harbour and North Preston Road in North Preston as part of the investigation.

No other details about the incident have been released.
