N.B. woman caught shoplifting twice in 24 hours: Amherst Police Department

A New Brunswick woman is facing charges after police say she was caught shoplifting twice in 24 hours.

Nellie Landry, 29, was arrested and charged in connection with an incident on Thursday evening. She is facing the following charges:

• theft under $5,000
• possession of property obtained by crime
• resisting arrest
• breach of probation

Landry was held overnight and appeared in court Friday. She was released from custody with a court date to reappear.

Shortly after 1 p.m. the same day, Amherst, N.S., police responded to a complaint of theft of clothing from a downtown business.

Landry was arrested shortly afterwards and charged with theft under $5,000.

She appeared in court on the new charges and was remanded into custody until Monday.
