Fatal 2024 hit-and-run in St. Stephen, N.B., still under investigation

A possible vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run in St. Stephen, N.B. (RCMP)

Police in New Brunswick say they continue to investigate a fatal hit-and-run that happened more than a year-and-a-half ago.

The incident happened on Pleasant Street in St. Stephen around 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 3, 2024.

First responders found a 24-year-old woman who had been hit by a vehicle. She died at the scene from her injuries.

Police believe the woman was hit by a vehicle travelling eastbound on Pleasant Street. It did not stay at the scene.

Last June, police released a photo of the vehicle believed to be involved.

While the RCMP admitted the photo was poor quality, the force hoped it would help further the investigation.

In an update issued Wednesday, police said they continue to investigate the case.

“Police believe that someone, somewhere has information relating to this incident,” said Const. Brandon Ramey of the St. Stephen RCMP in a news release.

“We urge you to come forward so that we can bring closure to the victims family.”
