Dartmouth North Community Centre partially reopens nearly one year after flood

The Dartmouth North Community Centre has partially reopened nearly one year after the building sustained significant flood damage.

The space, which houses the community centre and the Dartmouth North Public Library, suffered a water leak on March 6, 2025. The building was closed following the leak to allow crews to make repairs.

The Halifax Regional Municipality says the community centre has reopened without access to the multipurpose room.

“In the coming weeks, the Dartmouth North Public Library will move into the community centre’s multipurpose room while renovations continue within the library space,” a news release from the municipality reads.
