Two people injured in three-vehicle crash involving dump truck in Fredericton

Two people were injured in a crash on a Fredericton bridge.

Two people were sent to hospital after a three-vehicle collision closed Fredericton’s Westmorland Street Bridge to traffic on Thursday.

The crash, which involved a dump truck, a passenger vehicle, and a tractor-trailer, occurred around 4:45 p.m.

The driver of the dump truck, a 54-year-old man, and the driver of the tractor-trailer, a 69-year-old man, were not injured.

Two people in the passenger vehicle, the 59-year-old male driver and a 62-year-old woman, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Fredericton Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick and Fredericton Police Force (FPF) responded to the scene.

Members of the FPF Forensic Collision Analysis Team also attended the scene to investigate.

The Westmorland Street Bridge was closed to traffic for a few hours as first responders remained on scene.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
